This
Breton quotation perfectly describes Cornouaille named by
the nostalgic Celts after their native Cornwall when they
fled the Anglo-Saxon invasion of Britain. This beautiful and
temperate corner of Finistère where we have our own group
of "Gîtes De Keraris" and a further 50 holiday homes
is where we have been providing holiday accommodation since
1981. This is the perfect area from which you can discover
that certain something which is specifically Breton.
The coastline
gives Brittany its character whether it is pounded by mighty
waves or lapped by gentle ripples. All our Gites are in very
close contact with the sea, that has forged the land as it
has forged its people.
Here you will
be able to fully appreciate the characteristics which bring
the Bretons nearer the Irish and the Welsh than anybody. You
will also be constantly reminded of their determined endeavour
to defend their traditions, culture and language.
The area enjoys
the full flavours of a gentle climate. There is a Mediterranean
type vegetation - mimosa, aloes, palm and fig trees all prosper
here. It also has endless miles of beautiful coastline, perfectly
kept safe beaches, impressive countryside, innumerable summer
folklore festivals, countless places of interest to visit
and superb food, especially Fruits de Mers. It is impossible
to give more than the briefest outline of the region's charms,
however if you are in search of a holiday from which you will
return with glorious memories, we can recommend with confidence
that you look no further.
On this web site
you will find houses to sleep between four and 12 people in
comfort, all the accommodation offered is of good quality
and convenient for the shops and beaches of this beautiful
area and is less than a 2 hour drive from the port of Roscoff.
